Beginning this December, The Classical Institute welcomes Dr Simon Trépanier, Senior Lecturer in Classics at the University of Edinburgh, to lead The Homeric Gods and Their First Philosophical Critics, a four-part seminar series. Dr Trépanier is an established specialist in ancient Greek philosophy with research spanning the Presocratics, Plato, Epicureanism and Lucretius, and a particular interest in the emergence of philosophy and its relationship to religion, literature, and wider society.

This is a rare opportunity to study with a leading scholar and engage directly with one of the defining intellectual turning-points in the ancient world.

Registration opens on Thursday 13th December 2025!

Further seminar dates will be confirmed in due course.
