The leadership of The Classical Institute provides strategic direction across its academic, educational, and institutional life. Working together, they guide the Institute's vision, develop its educational provision, and cultivate the relationships that support its continued growth.

  • Kamila Deen

    Director of Education

    Kamila Deen is Director of Education at The Classical Institute, where she provides strategic leadership for the Institute’s curriculum, programmes, and teaching. Working closely with the Founding Dean and faculty, she oversees the development of the academic portfolio, ensuring that the Institute’s vision is reflected throughout its teaching and student experience.

    She contributes to the Institute’s long-term academic strategy, the expansion of its educational provision, and partnerships with scholars and institutions. Her work also includes supporting faculty, developing new programmes, and maintaining the coherence, quality, and intellectual rigour of the curriculum.

    She is committed to creating a demanding yet accessible learning environment in which students and faculty engage deeply with the classical traditions and pursue scholarship of the highest standard.

  • Aliya Choudhry

    Director of External Relations

    Aliya Choudhry is Director of External Relations at The Classical Institute, where she leads the Institute's external engagement, developing relationships with academics, educational institutions, and partners who share its educational vision.

    Working closely with colleagues across the Institute, she represents the Institute in its engagement with the wider academic community, cultivates new institutional relationships, and supports collaborations that strengthen its public presence and educational mission.

    She holds a First-Class Honours degree in Chemistry from the University of Birmingham and completed postgraduate training in education before working in teaching and in senior school management roles, including as an Assistant Head. She also serves as Honorary Editor at Allahabad Press.

  • Abdelhamid Arbab

    Programmes and Partnerships Lead

    Abdelhamid Arbab is Programmes and Partnerships Lead at The Classical Institute, where he leads the development of academic programmes and works closely with faculty to shape and expand the Institute's educational provision.

    Working alongside colleagues across the Institute, he develops partnerships with universities, research institutes, and other academic organisations that support collaborative research, programme development, and the continued growth of the Institute's academic offering.

    He is committed to the belief that the classical traditions deserve serious institutional support, and that partnership is one of the most effective means of securing it. He is motivated by the opportunity to place rigorous scholarship within reach of those who seek it, and to ensure that the Institute's work is sustained by relationships of genuine intellectual substance.

  • Afeefa Choudhry

    Programmes and Events Coordinator

    Afeefa Choudhry is Programmes and Events Coordinator at The Classical Institute, where she supports the planning and delivery of programmes and events that reflect the Institute's educational vision. Working closely with colleagues across the Institute, she helps coordinate academic provision and supports students throughout their studies.

    A significant part of her role is ensuring that every engagement with The Classical Institute is welcoming, intellectually enriching, and well supported. She works closely with students and faculty to encourage thoughtful dialogue, strengthen academic relationships, and promote sustained intellectual engagement beyond the classroom.

    She holds a degree in Biomedical Sciences and is particularly interested in the development of engaging and intellectually enriching educational programmes.
