How to apply: a step-by-step guide

Before you begin

Applications are made through Teleia, The Classical Institute’s Virtual Learning Platform. You may apply either through the Teleia app or through your web browser at tci.teleia.co.uk. Both lead to the same application system, and an application begun on one may be continued on the other.

Before beginning your application, please note the following:

One account serves everything. Your applications, enrolment and programme materials are held under a single Teleia account. If you have studied with the Institute before, or already have an account through the app, please sign in using that same account rather than creating a new one. A second account will not be linked to your existing record.

Your answers are saved as you go. You may pause your application and return to it at any time before submitting.

Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by the Admissions Team. Applicants may normally expect a decision within fourteen days.

Option A: Applying through the Teleia app

Step 1: Install the app and sign in

Download Teleia from the App Store for iPhone and iPad or Google Play for Android, then open the app.

Sign in with Google, Apple, or your email and password. If you are new to Teleia, you may create an account. If asked to choose an institution, select The Classical Institute.

If you already have a Teleia account, please sign in using your existing account.

Step 2: Open the programme and apply

Go to the Programmes tab, find the programme you wish to apply to, and tap Apply on its card.

A panel will open showing the programme, a short summary, any closing date, and confirmation that your application will be reviewed by the Admissions Team and that you will be notified once a decision has been made.

If you have been given a direct application link, opening it will take you straight to the programme application.

Step 3: Complete and submit your application

If prompted, confirm the email address at which you wish to receive updates. Then tap Start Application and answer each question.

When you have completed the form, submit your application. You will see confirmation that it has been received and is under review.

Step 4: After you apply

You will receive a notification once a decision has been made.

You may view your application at any time under My Applications. While a decision is pending, you may also amend or withdraw your application there.

Option B: Applying through a web browser

Step 1: Go to Teleia and find the programme

Visit tci.teleia.co.uk, open the Programmes section, and select the programme you wish to apply to. The programme page sets out its details and whether applications are currently open.

If you have been given a direct application link, it will take you straight to the relevant programme.

Step 2: Sign in

In the application panel, select Sign in to apply.

Sign in with Google, Apple, or your email and password, or create an account if you are new to Teleia. Once signed in, you will be returned automatically to the application.

If you already have a Teleia account, please use your existing account.

Step 3: Complete and submit your application

If prompted, confirm your contact email. Then answer each question in the application form with care and select Submit.

You will see confirmation that your application has been received and is under review. Applicants may normally expect a decision within fourteen days.

Step 4: After you apply

Your applications are listed under Your applications, where you may view the status of each application and, while a decision is pending, amend or withdraw it.

Once enrolled, your session links, discussions and programme materials can be accessed through the Teleia app.

A note on accounts

Please always sign in using the same account and the same sign-in method, whether you are applying through the web, applying through the app, or later accessing your programme in the app.

Signing in using a different method, or creating a new account, may create a separate Teleia record. The Institute will not be able to see this alongside your existing record, and your programmes and applications will not appear together.
