Programme Overview
Biblical Hebrew: Language and Scriptural Reading provides an introduction to the original language of the Hebrew Bible. Designed for beginners, this twelve-part course develops foundational skills in reading, pronunciation, and grammatical understanding. Students study the Hebrew alphabet, vowels, and core syntax while learning to translate short passages from Genesis and other scriptural texts. By combining linguistic precision with contextual interpretation, the programme enables participants to appreciate the linguistic and literary depth of the Hebrew Scriptures.

  1. Alphabet and Pronunciation – Mastery of consonants, vowels, and pronunciation conventions.

  2. Grammar and Syntax – Understanding the structure and function of Hebrew nouns, verbs, and prepositions.
